9.9 Johnson not peeing

I have an 1978 9.9 Johnson that is not peeing to her full potential. I replaced the impeller and still not working. Please help me out.

Was the old impeller in tact? Could be a few things. The rubber grommet which the water tube goes into could be crushed or damaged. Or an obstruction somewhere in the block and lastly the thermostat could be bad or plugged.

Try compressed air into the tell-tale and try it again with the muffs on.

Push a foot long piece of weed whipper line into the tell tale hole while the motor is running. It will dislodge bits of weeds or leaf that might be blocking the tube.
