pllwft
Read an article in the recent Outdoor Life magazine about the salmon runs on the St. Mary's river in Seault St. Marie, Michigan and was intrigued. Apparently the runs are the best salmon runs outside of Alaska and if the St. Mary's gets crowded, nearby rivers produce the same fishing. I'm thinking about heading out there this September, wondering if anybody else has ever fished these fall runs and what they were like?
travwinkleman
I fished the Pere Marquette and its absolutely fabulous! If you get a chance to hit those rivers during the run, definately get out there and enjoy!
outdoor ran
Have you tried the root river (Racine) for salmon. Its in the getos, but it gets a awesome run if theres water.

the_mighty_kasey
I graduated from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. I didn't do a lot of fishing because I am not into salmon fishing but I went a couple of times and had some success. The St. Mary's River itself has a strong run of Chinook and Pink salmon. If the river is not producing, you can always go into Canada and fish it's tributaries. I can't rememeber the name of the tributary that I fished, but it was loaded.
