Knotable leader/hardmono/flouro to line connection question

Question is what kind of knots to use for the connection of line to leader if you don't use a swivel. Am thinking a nail or better yet an albright cuz its easier to ty. Any input?

Cooter,

I think I understand your question- I use a blood knot to connect my flouro leader to my line. It looks like a tough knot, but it's actually pretty easy once you tie a couple. I know RK also just uses back to back uniknots for this.

Good luck.

Hiya Cooter,

Like Scoot said, I just use back to back Uni-knots. Never had one fail as long as they're cinched up good.

If you're going from superline to fluoro of roughly the same break strength, it's usually fine. If it seems like the difference in diameter's a little too great though, you can just double the superline with a Bimini Twist, which isn't as hard to tie as it looks. Couple minutes of practice with a spool of line in front of the TV and you'll be able to do them in your sleep. If I'm using Mono, I almost always use a Bimini...

Cheers,

RK
