carpshooterdeluxe
does anybody know of a HSOforum that lists guides and lodges for winnepeg area fishing trips? my friend is getting married and us groomsmen would like to take him up to canada and do some fishing, but also be able to stay a night in winnepeg and hit the clubs and bars and whatnot. any help would be appreciated! Hemlock
The City of Winnipeg is more well known for it's...well, um, it's.....bars, rivers, parks, etc. Not much of a fishing town, even though two major rivers meet in the heart of the city. I would give Selkirk/Lockport a try for catfish. It's 40 minutes north of Winnipeg and some of the river/kitty guys on here will back me up here. I don't think it would be too tough for a bunch of groomsmen to sit in a boat and go corkin' for kitties. Two hours to the east, you can be on Lake of the Woods and I can hook you up with a guide here if that fits into your plans.
Ben Trod
Depending on when you are going, the Winnepeg River near paper town and the mouth of Lake Winnepeg has been good to us in past years. And no matter where you are, the beer drinking is always good.
