Wildview digital scouting camera

Wondering if any of you have tried one of the Wildview digital scouting cameras they have at Gander Mtn. and what you think of it. I have the $60 Stealth Cam right now but I'm getting pretty fed up with it. I think it's missing a lot of deer because I had to walk past it 4 times before it took my picture and the rate at which it goes through batteries is insane. But back to the original reason for this post. The Wildview cameras are a 3 megapixel digital that use 4 "C" or "D" batteries and it has a slot for an SD memory card. They have them for $99.99 at the Gander Mtn. in Baxter, which seems like a pretty good deal for a poor college kid like myself. But it makes me wonder if this is the low-priced, unreliable, battery eating Stealth Cam of digitals. Just wondering if any of you have tried one before I go spend my money or maybe I should just save my pennies and get a Leaf River.

I have the Wildview. It only has a .3 Mega-Pixel Resolution thats right .3 not three. It works fine as far as getting game on card, but the pics are not too great. You can see what it is and how big or small the critter is, but you will not win any awards with them.

Don't waste your time with a .3 mp camera.

You will be completely dissatisfied with it.

I have the Leaf River digital and its 2.1 mp. Thats about the bare minimum for megapixels I would ever consider after using it.

Only .3 megapixels, no wonder why it's so cheap. So on that note, what other digitals would you guys recommend. Leaf River, Cuddeback, and Moultrie are 3 that come to mind. Any others I am overlooking? Thanks again for all the great input.

That Wildview camaera might be worth a try, the price is definately right. I also don't know how grainy a .3 megapixel picture will be! It all you want to do is monitor what might be in your area...

My experience is with the Leaf Rivers, the battery life is very good, the 2.1 megapixel pictures look nice, the only questions are response time and how sensitive are the sensors. I had mine set on trail, facing down the trail. I walked down the trail with my wife, and then 1/2 hour later I walked back up the trail - it only caught me walking back up the trail? Go figure. I then decided to so some experimenting with mine, set it up in my shed, walk by it in the dark to see when it would flash so I knew when it took a picture. The sensor was very good, it caught me every time if I was within 30 feet, the down side is that it takes 4-5 seconds for the camera to take the picture. Then I set it up outside and walked by it several times. As has been reported before with the Leaf Rivers, it won't catch you (or a deer) walking by at a 90 degree angle, but it works when you walk toward or away from it. I think it will be outstanding on a scrape or feeder. The animal definately has to be in the picture awhile.

I'd like to hear from guys that have other types of cameras. How is the sensitivity and delay on those?
