Sweeps for Central Leaders

White Sox and Cards continue what they started in the 1st half and that's 2nd half domination of division foes. Chris Carpenter (14-4)was stellar yesterday against Roger Clemens, complete game shutout, 9 K's, 3 hits and lowered his era to 2.34... Carp keeps this up and he will have a strangle hold on the CY young balloting.

What do you guys think of Leiter? Looks like he found a home with the Yankees, nice performance yesterday against the Red Sox...

Hey Tim,

I think Mr. Garland is bucking for the same hardware over here. It is getting scary, come from behind tonight with 4 homers and Twinks get picked off in extra innings thanks to Slammy and Miguel. Sox Magic Number is 59, what are the Red Birds looking at, about 63 right now? Talk to you later.

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! Windy

Carpenter and Garland what a game one match up eh? 11-4 over the Brew crew and Pujhols goes deep. Matt Morris ups his mark to 11-2. Other than the Oakland A's you guys have handled pretty much everyone in that league, can't wait to your guys play the Yanks and Red Sox that will be huge if the palos take both of there's. The cubbies next series with the Cardinals should be interesting as well as they have been playing well. You guys are 31-5 in your division? That's just flat out sick. Keep em rolling Windy...

Just because the sox have the best record in baseball does not mean they are already in the championship.

Cough Pheonix Suns Cough

The real test is how they do against the teams that frequent the championship. Angels, Yankees, and the Sox even though they aren't frequent, they are last years champions.

Cards are a great team though, and with them already being there last year. I will say the Cards will probably be there again this year with a different outlook planned. And the Yankees have a great shot at being the other team in the series. Do I see the Sox beating out the Yankees in the playoffs, No. The Yankees have better position players at about every position and have more playoff experience by a long long ways.
