Bass in the pads

I was wondering, a lot of you fish deeper water in the summertime, I'm a slop fisherman by nature, do the fish that migrate deep move into the shallows to feed in the summertime?

I believe there are bass both shallow and deep in mid summer. You can catch them in the pads, off docks, reeds, cattails, etc. Then you can go to an outside weedline point or pocket and also pick up bass.

I would say that the bass that are deep are probably more likely to be schooled up; so if you do catch one deep slow down there is prob. more in the area. But I have also had times when fishing the rice in the summer in less that 5FOW where I have caught many fish out of a 10'x 10' area.

So yes! they are shallow as well. Are they smaller shallow or deeper?- Ive had good success for size in both parts.

I've had most of my success thus far just working a lot of shallow water (less than 6')
