Transducer alignment

Guest

Question

I just purchased a Humminbird Zercom RTS "flasher". It does not come set up for ice fishing and has a puck transducer. How can I set the transducer up so that it will remain level in the water. I do have an Ice-dapter transducer holder for my Eagle fishfinder, is there something available for the Zercom?

By the way you can buy the Zercom RTS for $40 right now at Excess, it is recondition and sells normally for $165.

If your transducers face doesn't hang perpendicular to the ice then you'll have to mount it onto a rod of some type. I've used PVC with a cap on the top which I put a bubble level on. I like a designated hole for the transducer. This way to plumb the PVC pipe I leave the ice shavings in the hole to hold the PVC were I set it while using the bubble level to plumb the PVC pipe. If you like to share the hole you can use a T with a stub on the PVC to hold it on the ice and aid in plumbing the pipe. Don't cement any sections together that way you can take it apart to save room and add lengths depending in ice thicknesses.
