Which month/months are the best?

I have only fished for muskies like three times ever. On one trip last year I was lucky enough to boat my first one out of a metro lake.

What month or months would you say are the best for catching muskies? My trips for fishing skies are limited with work, the wife, a kid, remolding, and such. Plus the closest muskie lake is a good hour and a half away. Thanks for any tips.

I prefer June/July, predictable locations, lures and presentations that I am more comfortable with, and of course...better weather

September and October for this guy. Love it!! Less boat traffic and if the weather allows you to get out on the rocks the piggies are there!!

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I was thinking more towards late summer/fall myself. I caught my first on Waconia in late August. I'd love to try it there again soon, but like I said my time is limited and I need to have the same days off as my cousin (he has a boat). Maybe I'll just have to wait till this fall.

You're not missing much on Waconia leech, been pretty slow bitewise. Smaller fish are the norm these days. Should pick up later though.
