Guest
I have a St. Croix rod and the platic ring/guide chipped/cracked. Whenever I set the hook, it'll cut my line and therefore lose the fish. Do any of you know if this is covered under warranty? Or know where I can get the ring/guide fixed?
0 Mongro02
Thorne Brothers in Fridley will do it.Don't know about the warranty...but if it's not covered...It's not that expensive to replace.

0 upnorth
That or you can go to most tackle shops and they will have a tip kit that you can use and do it yourself.
0 kslipsinker
We replace rod tips at the Gander Mountain in Lakeville. $1.99 for a black or $2.99 for a gold tip, installed.
0 SteveWilson
Rod tips are easy to replace (assuming that they aren't wrapped) but make sure that you put on a tip that is as good as the one that's on there. You can go to the St. Croix web site and look at their rod builders supply. Find your rod on the site (they list the blank and cross reference to their rods) and they will list the components used to build it. They use different quality levels of Fuji rod tips on their rods. You can have St. Croix replace it or Thorne Brothers would be the quickest and they do have the full range of Fuji guides.

0 Guest
I emailed St. Croix rods about my rod tip and the gentleman was really helpful. He offered to send me a new tip and detailed instructions on how to replace it a no cost!! Also, from what he told me, if I or anyone works on the rod, it would void the warranty. Theres a 2 year warranty on the rod Kudos to St. Croix for standing behind their product!
