BIG DS
They will definitely change your fishing style. You will find yourself watching how the fish react to your jigs and start adjusting your jigging style until you find one that works. They are very helpful for finding structure year around. If you are an avid Walleye guy they are good for identifying species when your flasher picks up a bunch of fish on the bottom. I've spent a lot of time jigging on sheepshead until I got a camera. Have fun.
Guest
I would agree with the posts above ,but also that when the sun goes down, you might as well turn off the aqua view.I find myself using it all the time to tell what specie is below, watching the fish react in the clearer lake.In the stained lakes it doesnt work near as well and the deeper the water the worse it gets.Still a nice tool to bring along fishing. Jim Hudson
I own the Aqua Vu SV... Another great tool for the angler as some people have touched on here already or just to have fun with to monkey around with when fishing is on the slow side... As someone has touched on, these cameras are great for searching out what type of fish your locator is showing and the structure they are holding on. Especially for the structure, seeing what it looks like through the camera will give you a better understanding on what your locator is telling you. Lets you cut down on possible fishing areas faster and more efficently. For ice fishing in particular, I use the camera to search structure, pinpointing what specie(s) of fish are holding there. Allowing me to better understand the mood of the fish and how to present my lure to them. Usually after setting up, I will down view with my Aqua Vu, allowing me to fine tune my presentation to the fish. I have learned a lot by doing this, noting the fish reaction to the time of day, weather, depth, water temp at that depth, etc etc... After you use this unit for awhile, I know you wont want to leave it at home. And just as your locator has become a piece of your fishing arsenal, the camera will come in a close second to helping you catch more fish and making your outing even more enjoyable. And in the long run, you will be happy you choosed a unit such as you did. Very dependable and works great in all seasons that we can fish.
