almostthere!
I'm looking for a place to purchase some hunting rounds with Barnes Triple Shock X-bullets at a reasonable price. It might be a psychotic thing because I no longer want to have anything to do with lead. I know there is lead in the powder and caps but what can a hunting addict do.
Gissert
What caliber/bullet weight/bullet style? Why the aversion to lead? Federal loads some Barnes bullets, but I dont imagine there is going to be a huge selection. As far a reasonably priced goes, you will pay top dollar for any factory loads with Barnes bullets. I handload, and love Barnes bullets. I was in Cabelas last night, and Triple shock 210 grain bullets (.338) are over 30 bucks for a box of 50. A box of 20 factory rounds will probably be pushing 30 dollars. I don't believe there is any lead in powder, if there is it is minuscule. Most powder is of a nitro-celluose base. I am not sure of the caps you mention. Primers, possibly? They too should not contain any lead. You will probably find a better selection of factory loads with a premium bullet such as Nosler Partition or Sierra Game Kings.
