I just bought a boat and was told that it ran good but the carbs need to be cleaned, well I cleaned the carbs and is still runs like dump. Here is what it does...Start it up (have to choke it) let idle for a minute or 2, put it in gear and take off, the boat planes out then falls on its face (no power) after the boat is cold again it will do it all over again. It is acting like a coil pack to me, but I no nothing about boat motors. It is a evinrude 70hp from the early 80's. I did a compression check and the 3 cylinders were 120-130 with no leak down in a 1/2 hr. Boat experts what do you think? It is going into the shop Sat. wondering what to expect. Any of you work on motors around the New Ulm area that would like some cash?
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
