Texas Rig weight ?

I honestly don't fish a Texas rig that often on the weedline. I know it can be torture with all the vegetation obstructions, but I fish a jigworm. However, I will give in, with cabbage in particular, and fish a 1/4 oz. free sliding weight. If it were really windy, I may switch to a 1/2 oz. But, I prefer the somewhat slower fall of the 1/4 oz.

They're was also a little discussion about this on the thread below:

Generally i try to go as light as possible. On a normal day i start out with a 1/16 oz. If it gets a little windy and i cant "feel" anything i go up to 1/8 or if its really windy go with a 1/4 oz. Best thing to do is experiment around. Also if you peg the weight with either a tooth pick or a bobber stop, it stays alittle more weedless. Also Deitz had a good write up about using a glass bead and a weight to make a "clicking" sound. But, best thing to do is go out and try different stuff. Goot luck!
