Taylors Falls

I was fishing taylors falls by the dam on the MN side on sunday morning. It was a rather slow morning so I was just casting my 6" silver and black jake. Got the lure right too shore, no line left just the leader and BAM! the pike hit and took the jake out a good 30 feet! I set the hook but didn't set it too hard because of lack of line and didn't want the hook to come flying out at me at such a close range. After abour a minute, I landed her and took a picture. Will post picture later

Any size to the pike?

I would say 30 to 36 inches and about 6-8lbs? Didn't get much time to measure and weigh it before I released it

So just how far did you jump when the water exploded at your feet? Still scares the heck outta me even when I see it coming.

Oh, I was still shaking after about 10 minutes.. haha.. I said to my brother, "Man, I'm still shaking from the sight of that pike coming out of nowhere and taking the crank as such close range" I'll post the picture once I get home from work
