Lake Wabedo

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever had success on this lake? My uncle just bought a cabin on this lake and has never fished it for muskies. Actually, he has never fished muskies. He's asked me to head up there with him and fish for them. I told him I would love to infect him with the "sickness". However, I have never fished it. Any tips or techniques for mid July would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! smile.gif

I had decent success out there a few years ago. But lately I've kind of struggled. I don't know of any real secrets out there. It gets plenty of pressure. So maybe try something a little different. But if it looks good, fish it. They can be anywhere in that lake. They could be up shallow in the reeds, on the breaks, on the rocks or suspended in open water. I've seen them in all of those locations. If Wabedo isn't going, go through the channel into Little Boy. It's not uncommon at all that one lake is going when the other isn't.

My brother and i used to fish Wabedo alot and the fish seemed really spooky. We had the best luck during the week in the evenings. We saw alot of fish during the day but had to come back in the evening with topwaters when the other boats were off to get 'em to bite. Good Luck.
