graph questions

texasrigger

Question

I will be buying a new graph, but I wouldnt mind someone in the know explaining a few things. For instance, should I be getting a 20 degree cone or a 60, single or dual, and what is dual frequencies? Is it fairly easy to replace an existing graph?

I have read on this forum some graphs people recommend but I guess I should know why. I was going to ask one of the sales people at a local store but it was so busy they never had time and i was on my way to work.

ps .. I understand the concept of 20 degree vs 60 degree but is a wider view going to be less accurate or detailed?

The transducer under your boat can be a 60 degree. The graph on the boat is designed to show you structure and if there is any wildlife under you. Since you are not fishing directly under the ducer like ice fishing you can look at more area. Lowrance has the best graphics right now and Humminbird is catching them. Stop at a on of the bigger box stores that carry both brands and do a little comparison for your self. I'm sure you find one that has the features you like with the price that interests you.
