battery question

I have a new FL18 and when I charge the battery the charger gets real hot. I charged it for four hours the other night and checked the battery with my buddies tester and it showed the battery was half charged,so I put his charger on it for the rest of the night,he has the charger that a light comes on when completly charged and it never came on and the battery was still half charged. Is the battery shot or should I try charging it all day?

I would test the battery....sounds like it might be about DEAD!

You can try running the battery completely dead and try recharging it but I suspect the battery is bad

I had the same problem. I would borrow your friends charger again and charge the battery until the red light comes on. I was using a tester to check my Vexilar battery also and found out I was NOT charging them long enough. This may take 8-12 hrs, it did for mine.
