Drift Socks

Im wondering what the best drift sock there is for your money?? Ive seen them range from $20-100 and am wondering what size to get and if there are any real good ones you would reccommend. I have a 14ft deep V Lund.

Tried the 5 gallon pail thing and it really sucked, didn't even slow my boat down in a 18 km wind.

Cheers!!

I have one for my Crestliner and it works great. You should take it out on a windy day and find a position in the exact middle of the boat where you can attach a cleat for hooking up the drift sock. That way you can drift your boat sideways allowing one person in the front to fish and one person in the back. Sometimes I hook it off of the bow, but using the cleat on the side works much better it seems. It is defineately a great tool for boat control once you get used to using it, just try to keep the fish away from it while trying to land them.
