trollneyes
I have a 1995 model autopilot that I cannot get the prop to turn. I can turn the motor but the prop will not turn. I have cheched internally for a loose connection and cannot find anything. Has anyone had this issue before?
0 Surface Tension
I have to say it, is the switch on the foot control on? Use an electrical cleaner on the plug for the foot control. If that doesn't work you dissemble the foot control and look for debris or a broken or worn part.
0 trollneyes
Ahh, I was waiting for that question. Yes the switch is on. I have not tried the electrical cleaner yet, I will give it a shot. Thanks for the reply ST.
0 Hookmaster
I also have a 1995 AutoPilot that's still going. Do you have power to the motor? Will it turn? Maybe check the power connection to see if it is corroded. As far as the motor goes, Surface Tension hit the nail on the head. Clean the contacts for the flat plug and take the foot pedal apart and clean. If this isn't it you'll have to take it in.
0 trollneyes
Thanks again for the help guys. I will clean the conections and inspect the foot pedal tonight. I am getting down to the wire with only 57.5 hours till opener. Can anyone say "PROCRASTINATE".
0 katoguy
If it is not a foot pedal issue, then check the lower unit by applying 12 volts directly to the brush lead wires that run up the composite shaft. If the lower unit runs, then (sorry to say) you are in need of a new $200 control board. If the lower unit does not run when applying direct voltage, then you could have water in the motor assembly.
