Wirenut
Whats your preference on brands of rod holders? I was leaning towards the Ram 2000, like or dislike them? Thanks!
0 PerchJerker
I've got Tempress Fish-Ons in flush mounts - they're solid.
0 LMITOUT
Anybody use the RAM rod holders that utilize their ball mount? I have a couple extra 1" mounts with the arms, but not sure if the holders use the 1" or 1-1/2" ball. I want to put them in the bow.Scotty's seem to work good too. 0 TravisC
i have run both the scottys and the rams both worked fine the scottys seem to fit better in the bases. the ball mount rams use the 1-1/2 inch ball.
0 bobberal
I use the Ram mounts for the past 5 years and they work just fine. The newer ones are better and more solid than the older ones.I also use a couple of RAM ball type. I like these because there is more flexibility to rod angle in both directions, up and down and forward and back. I would warn though to never travel with the rod in a ball mount, because if you hit a wave too hard they do tend to move a bit.
0 LMITOUT
Thanks. I had a feeling they used the 1-1/2". My gunnels are too narrow to do a flush mount correctly in the bow area and was hoping this would be an easy solution since I had the two 1" mounts/arms already. 0 TravisC
i run two ram tubes on the back of my boat and have never had them move on me. i sand the mounts to rough them up a little they seem a little slick when there new.
