Running dog laws....

Was wondering what the laws say you can do about dogs (3) running continuity on your property? This is way out of town on land that I bow hunt on. Any comments would be a help. Thanks

What I like to do is get a hold of the owner after the first time and ask them to keep a better eye on thier dogs.

Second time, Call local authorities and have them taken to the humane society. Having to pay to get them out will maybe be an eye opener.

Remember...any dog observed wounding, killing, OR pursuing big game may be killed by

1...anybody between the dates of January 1st and July 14th if you are permitted to do so.

2...a peace officer or conservation officer at anytime of the year.

By doing this legally you will not be held liable for damages to the dog.

I would definately call the authorities. If you know the owner that might be an option, but if they let the dogs run they probably don't give a rip. Call the warden EVERY time you see them run and hopefully something will get done. This is really bad news on the deer with brand new young ones or very pregnant right now. Good luck getting this resolved, can be a real problem at times. I love dogs, but the ones that chase deer have no place in the woods.
