Got a new boat a few months ago, well it's used but it's new to me. IT's a 98 Lund Explorer with a 40 HP Merc 2 stroke w/oil injection. The problem is when you first get the boat in the water the engine doesn't pop off right away. I choke the engine, make sure the bulb on the gas is tight, etc. Yet it usually takes 5 (sometimes more, sometimes less) turns of the key before it finally pops off. Once you get it to pop off it starts up first turn every time after that. ANy ideas?
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
