Minnetonka bass

A friend and I are thinking about taking a trip to Minnetonka to do some bass fishing. We are both avid bass anglers but neither of us have ever fished Tonka.

We are probably going to head up there the middle to end of June and probably again early July.

Where should we start looking? I've heard Tonka has a good dock bite and the milfoil can be good as well.

What bays should we start with?

Any water depth we should be looking for. We are after big fish so any help would be much appreaciated.

Fish the lake in sections or you will just spend your time running there are so many options, each lake is different,so take a map and find the water that suites your style of fishing.

Bronze-to be honest.. not really.. It really depends on a lot of things... I always seem to do best on the east side of the lake, but that plays to my strength.. I know a lot of gus that do much better on the west... Each bay holds big fish.. I cant think of one I havn't caught big fish in..

I have fished every inch of shoreline of Lake Mtka.. When I was a kid my parents had a pontoon boat, and we had a huge map that we mounted to a table.. I used a highligher marker to mark everywhere we fished.. untill... yep.. fished every inch of shoreline!

Honetly the whole lake is awesome.. I try and make it back at least 6 times a year.
