Shimano rod warranty question

I have a 7 ft compre rod I got on hsolist. I was reading the warranty card and they said if I ever needed the warranty, Ill need the sales receipt when I bought the rod. I got it off hsolist. I got no receipt. Am I suppose to just fill out that little postcard and send it in or what? Im hoping I never need the warranty, but just in case something happens, I want to know how to go about doing this. Thanks guys.

You are suppposed to have the recipt.. However, I highly anybody will give you a problem. All compre rods are over the counter exchange as long as they have the rod in stock!

Shimano Rods with Green Labels are over the counter exchange at ANY shimano dealer. If they won't do the exchange for you I would cease to shop there as they will get credit for the rod from Shimano...

Wait a second.. Deitz is seldome right.. but about the rods I am right... If you should ever have a problem with the rod.. Bring it to any Shimano dealer and they will take care of you!

Sounds good to me. I was pretty sure it was over the counter exchange. I doubt Ill have a problem with it. Very surprised when I got the rod. Excellent craftsmanship. I traded in my St.Croix for this compre. So far Im very happy. thaks guys
