LaVoi
I just bought my first boat this spring, a 14.5' Sea Nymph. I want to put a bow mount trolling motor on it and was wondering what everyone thought would be the smallest motor you could get away with on this boat. Thanks for any info. 0 Slyster
I have a 14' lund basic aluminum boat... not sure how heavy a Sea Nymph is... and the Minn Kota Endura 30 was perfect for mine- short 32" (30"?) shaft. Gave me amazingly long life since it's so small. Could go out 12 hours.. using it a lot.. and have 1/2 a battery left. Although.. you pay on really windy days.. so I switched to a Maxxum #55/36" for more control and speed (I fish no motor lakes a lot).... not sure how long it will last.. but probably only 1/2 the time- but then again.. you could just get a second battery to boost it right back up. 0 Northlander
At least a 36# but I would go 55# and the longest shaft you can fit on your boat without getting in the way or hanging over the front of the boat too much.I had a 14' Northwoods and the 36# just didnt cut it if it got windy or in high current.
