How far out of the water do you put your motor when going wide open? i usally put myn so it is just far enough in the water.

Depends on the conditions. Generally, I raise it up enough so that I can move the steering wheel back and forth easily. I don't like to get it much higher than that.

I put it where my RPM's are in the correct range and I get the most speed.
