Transum Height

Can any one tell me how tall the transum needs to be for a 25 horse Bigfoot with the long shaft? I have 16' Polarcraft with a 16'' transum. I had a short shaft moter on it and did not have any problems. I put this new moter on and about sank the boat with all the water dumping in when on plane.

U need a 20-1 inch transom for a long shaft. This is pretty standard. 16" takes short shaft. Also, 4 strokes are heavier than 2 strokes, so you might need a bigger boat.

get a transom extension, it will work fine.

Short shaft = 15"

Long shaft = 20"

Extra Long s. = 25"

XXtra Long s. =30"

That's it, you will need the extension on your transom as Blacksheep said.
