Crestliner 1850 sportfish

DuckStupid

Question

I'm in the market for a new boat, I'm finally upgrading my (old) 14 ft mirrocraft with the 20 hp johnson and found an 2002 1850 sportfish with a 150 merc xr6 on it that looks like it's in great shape for the money I want to spend on a boat. Any opinions on the boat / motor. good/bad. I want something I can fish, but also want something I can load the family in and go for a little ride. The kids are getting old enough where I want to them to be able to do a little skiing, etc. I realize the sportfish is a bit of a compromise boat, but it sure looks like something I could get used to fishing out of as well...

Any and all comments appreciated.

This is a wonderful boat, I have a 21 footer in the same model. There are very few complaints I could make about it, in fact, nothing substantial to even list here.

I will add, this discussion has taken place a few times before on this forum, so you might search those, there's a lot of opinions.

I use the same boat in a 97. It is a great all purpose boat. I fish tournies with it, Take the family fishin(4 kids), ski/tube all day, whatever. My only complaint is when I have to fill that 43 gallon gas tank!
