Need help on props for 2 different boats

First my boat, a 1999 Lund 1700 Angler SS with a 1999 Yamaha F100 bought new by me. Current prop is a 13 ¼ X 17 Yamaha aluminum. Great hole shot. Top end is 37-38 mph at 6000 rpm, WOT range is 5000-6000 rpm. The problem is at 5400 rpm I can trim the boat nicely. When I give it the rest of the throttle, the bow lowers and I can trim it up to the point of ventilation but the bow doesn’t come up. All batteries are in the back of the boat. Also when tubing, it can ventilate rather easily in turns if the motor is trimmed up. I need a prop that will give more bow lift and stay locked up better in turns. I think I could go to a 19 pitch also being I’m at the top end of the rpm range. Brand, diameter, pitch suggestions?

My friend is buying a new 1800 Trophy with a Yamaha F150. It comes with a stock aluminum prop. No performance data yet since it hasn’t been delivered. I said he probably needs a stainless prop. Brand, diameter, pitch suggestions?

when you step up to stainless steel you will gain considerable lift and also eliminate any blow out. You want to be able to turn within 200rpm of max loaded down with your usual gear and number of passengers. If your 6,000rpm reading is with a normal fuel, and load you may want to jump up one size prop. When you jump up prop size you may lose some hole shot and midrange acceleration but you will gain top end speed. I would consider staying with the same pitch prop if you pull skiers. Mercury props will fit your yamaha if you use the thrust washer you have on the aluminum prop now. The tempest plus is a great 3 blade prop and the trophy plus is a great 4 blade prop. You can vent them for better hole shot also if you step up prop size. I would consider a SS mercury prop because they are considerably cheaper than a yamaha. The best prices/prop dealer is kenyon power boats out of florida. You can expect to pay just over $400 for a merc ss prop while the local dealers charge well over $600. They will also return/exchange any unmarked prop without any hassle. I've dealt with them on several occasions and have been very happy. Google search the web for phone numbers and their HSOforum. A 17 pitch 4 blade trophy will give you more top end, same holeshot, and lots of stern lift. That would be my fist suggestion for you.
