Having problems with moter not charging battery/draing the battery when trolling.. Charges fine at higher speeds. Voltage regulaters? And is this something I can do my self.... Thanks Strat

A bad rectifier will drain the battery. I'm not sure about charging at higher speeds and that scenario though.

A shop manual should have detailed steps to do the test.

How confident are you that your battery is good?

I have the same motor and I've had the same issues. I'm having the dealer check it out. I bought a new battery and still have issues. It will not charge the battery as it should, even at higher RPM's.

I've had rectifiers go bad on my Johnson/Evinrudes and those were obvious, but this one stumps me.
