0 Surface Tension Posted April 6, 2005 Share Posted April 6, 2005 A bad rectifier will drain the battery. I'm not sure about charging at higher speeds and that scenario though. 0 ChuckN Posted April 6, 2005 Share Posted April 6, 2005 I have the same motor and I've had the same issues. I'm having the dealer check it out. I bought a new battery and still have issues. It will not charge the battery as it should, even at higher RPM's. I've had rectifiers go bad on my Johnson/Evinrudes and those were obvious, but this one stumps me.
