Good Bye MN

I got itch that you can't scratch enough, so packing it up and moving down to Sprinfield, MO. Am not going to wait for the ice to leave any more am going right to the heartland of bass fishing and most of all open water all year around.

For those of you who have had the opportunity to get to know me through tournaments, I just want to say thanks to all of you. I had met some genuine people through MN fishing tournaments... Last year I fished the Gander MT. Pro/Am and had the best time of my life, I met some very great people through the course of the season, who I take my hat off for.. Lots of respect for these individuals who some have become very close friends...

I also would say we have some of the most elite competion in the country, because we have all these lakes to test our skills on and learn from.

Anyways am following my dream of doing what I have wanted to do my whole life and obviously that's to fish and make a career out of it. Am going down there boatless for the first time in my life "I don't have a boat" I will get one is soon as I get my roots set in and comfortable to do so.

I have learned alot of valuable lessons in my life and am still learning them which will never quit, but the only risks that I regret are the ones a guy didn't take!!!!! The sky is limit you want something so bad you will make sure you put a 110 percent to make sure you get it. Some times the cards don't always go to your hand and you fold but you do it again anyway!!!!

You guys go and beat up on these big bronzies around here and soremouth some green ones why your at it.

Good luck go with you! You'll love the area - hard to get used to every pick-up having a bass boat attached....LOL

Have to confess to a bit of envy too --- I have to wait until my daughter graduates HS (2 more years) to move south where they have never heard of a fishing "season"...

Daze Off

Good luck in your quest. My story is the opposite. I need to get one more thru hi school, then I'm MN bound. My work keeps me busy Jan thru July, so I don't even buy a MO fishn' tag (otherwise I would be fishn' instead of workn').

I know how you feel man. I have barely kept my sanity this winter. I don't know how anyone thinks that this "ice fishing" can even come close to being out on the open water chasin' em. If you do, you're lying to yourself. The only reason I've managed to stay in this state another year is because I took a 5 day fishing trip to Texas and have another trip to Arkansas coming in about two weeks. After that I'll be able to get out on the river. The only other reason I'm sticking around is to finish off this years tournament circuits and then I'm moving down to Texas to take a crack at my dreams. I wouldn't be able to do another november/december/january/february/march in this state. Best of luck to ya Cory, tear up a few Missouri bronzebacks for me and show those southern boys what a yankee can do in a tournament.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
