i am swithching out my 55pd minnekota hooked with (2)12V batts (parallel) and going to a 74pd minnekota (24V). both have the universal ("built in") transducer. this is a 2 part ?
1) i've always had my bow mounted depthfinder hooked up to the trolling motor batts (in parallel) up front. never had any probs with my depthfinder. my dad has the exact same set up (55pd 12V - parallel batts) and i've noticed the screen on his bow mount depthfinder changes significantly when I hit the control to make the prop go. (not when the motor is just turning to change directions.) I'd like know what to do with dad's system, so his screen doesn't change w/o having to run it to the starting battery (if possible). any advice welcomed.
2)i'm planning on experimenting with my vex up front this year (also my old garmin 240 if not using the vex.) any worries about hooking them up to the batts up front now that they are hooked up to put out 24Vs?? i've gotten both "nothing to worry about" and "what are you thinking!!?? you'll blow your depthfinder(s) up!" i'm leaving it up to the FM experts. thanks in advance.
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
