Crankbaits for Devils Lake

If you were getting antsy for softwater and wanted to spend some money on crankbaits for targeting walleyes on Devils lake;

1. What kind would you buy?

2. What color & size?

Yep I am getting antsy and want to be ready for soft water season.

There are a ton of baits that will work on DL, but these are my go to baits.

Reef Runner Deeps-Green Perch, Red Wonderbread, Kryptonite

Reef Runner Little Ripper Deeps-Green Perch, Red Wonderbread, Kryptonite

Shad Raps #4 jointed- Perch, Blue

Shad Raps #5- Perch, Blue

Countdowns- Perch, Vampire

I've been told that many different Salmos work very well, but personally don't have any experience with them.

Thx for the reply. I am stocked with Reef Runners, both models, Shad Raps and big & little, deep Bombers. Wondering how Cotton Cordell Wally Divers or Wally Minnows are? Always looking for more ammo.

I have no real expereince fishing DL, but hope to after this yr (moving to the RRV in 28 days). All comments and suggestions to methods/programs on that lake.

I personally don't use Walleye Diver much, but I've got reports of guys smashing them on WD's. I've tried the Walleye Minnows with very limited success.

ive had great luck with the small wally divers casting and trolling. the wally minnow and the new grappler work well also.

Small Wally Divers being the CD5 (2.5"/1/4oz) size?

yes the cd5s are the bait i use most in the summer. the 6s seem to work good earlier for casting.

Hey nodak what ya really need is a can of pees. Ya place them on the bow of youre boat an when a eye comes up to take a pee ya grab em. Tee hee guess who later boar. Geezz any relation?

Green giant brand, trying to compensate for something. 2nd weekend in OCT. I'm setting it in stone. Rainy, ultralight, 1lb Dia. 8lb test Power pro, fireballs, T bones, pillsner and eyes in the well. Think about it dream about it then lets live it. Later bro.
