Frabil Min-o-life Bait Box

I have the Frabil bait box that looks like a small tackel box with the air pump and pull out basket. I like the whole design because its not tippy and has no holes for water to splash out of, but the air pump is really loud. So loud that you can only stand to listen to it for about 5 minutes. Does anybody else have one of these and had the same problem, or did I just get a bad pump??

A guy I go fishing with all the time also has one. Great little bait box, however it is loud enough to wake the dead!

yes, the pump is loud on mine as well. The latch is cheaply made too, becareful, lucky mine spilled in the garage and not the house, heh. I am going to get the large pale size next, it seems abit sturdier, and would give them more room to roam around. Mt tackle box style is laying by the side of the garage with frozen minners in it right now if anyone wants it

Oh, P.s. I am going to get one of them fish tank style pumps that you plug in, for my next one.

O.K. sounds like the loud noise was designed into the pump. Why I would not know. At least now I know its not a bad pump, so to speak. There is that one pump out on the market that is supposed to be really good, but its like $100. I can buy minnows a lot for that. I bought the box more for the design than the pump but figured it was a nice plus.

The one pump that I have been interested in that I have seen on the market by Marine Metal Products is the "Quiet Bubbles Aerator"

Looks exactly like the Frabil pump but claims to be very quiet. Seen them at all the major outlets out there...just haven't found anyone that has used them yet.

Might be a simple solution.

I can't remember the name. They advertise in Outdoor News. The plug in ones seem pretty quiet too. Have not used minnows much this year. Keep me posted on the other one if you get it.

Ya they are kinda loud.

If you are bothered by it just unhook the pump-pack from the side and lay it on something and it is much better...far less noise.
