Matthews Question

Recommended Posts

Soft cam usually refers to a solo cam while a hard cam is the same thing as hatchet or dual cams. The FX is a solo (or soft) cam, as are all Matthews bows. A little more speed can be gained from hatchet cams, but they can be more tricky to tune, have more kick, and not have as smooth a drae as a solo cam. That's kinda the issue that allowed Matthews to create such a big name by introducing a solo cam.

There is a new trend toward cam and a half technology, but in all honesty I really don't know much at all about it. I would imagine that the idea is to combine the merits of both hatchet and solo cams, and eliminate the bad stuff. Anyone have any more info on the cam and a half, I've been kinda curious after seeing a few ads.

Hope this helps.

I just got a new bowtech allegiance, with thier new cam system (sort of a new version of a twin cam, mounted to the bow differently) it is one of the smoothest bows I have shot by far. I was going to buy a matthews, until I shot the bowtech. for me it was the best of the two, and the service of the shop was better
