Fish trap tarp

I have a question. my older trap is starting to look a little dirty and crusty can you run the tarp through a washing machine? anybody done this? thanks.

i thought about it but settled for a bucket of soap and a brush,scrubbed every inch and
pulled out the hose,let it dry for several hours outside on the last 60 degree day
