Just wondering who's banging any birds? With all of the reports of geese around western MN, and throughout SD, I figured there'd have been a lot of reports from this weekend. I haven't made it out yet, but have been watching the weather. With snow in the forecast, I'm sure it'll keep a lot of birds where they are, or move them back south again. Just curious who's been working them yet?

Haven't hunted em, but good grief were they flying through here yesterday!!!! WOW! Of course, bluebird day and a cloud ceiling about a million feet up, JUST above the birds...

Went out this morning and shot 47 with 3 guys. Also killed our 3rd band of the year, this time on a Ross. I don't know if they did a lot of banding last summer but it just isn't probable to shoot 3 bands in a week and a half. Jeesh, I hope this pattern stays, I could fill up the lanyard in 2 more weeks...lol

Good luck to all,

Andy

Nice work JerkNPerch! Those are some nice numbers!! I'm heading west on Thursday... but to fish. Not sure why I'm doing that, but plans have been made smile.gif Hope to scout for the latter half of the day though. May have to make a go of it this weekend if things look good. Anyone else getting into them??

I'm already sick of hunting these light geese. Sat down and got the boat and all my open water rods ready to go. I'll hunt untill this weekend probably and then I'll put most of my effort on some pre-spawn 'eyes

Mille lacs--

I was out to the Waubay area fishing yesterday, and only saw dark geese. Had I gone about 15-20 miles further west, I think I'd have started to see snows. I have a friend hunting the Sand Lake Refuge flocks, and there are about 100,000 birds staging there right now. The majority of these are most likely mature, adult birds. I would hunt mid-state right now for better shooting at juvenile geese that are staging in those areas. Should be an interesting weekend of shooting with this perfect "fowl" weather! I'd definitely plan to put on some miles scouting for the ideal area(s). I'd be looking inside the zone between Brookings to Bristol to Ipswich to Miller right now.

Good luck!
