Suzuki DF140 vs. Honda BF135

I am upgrading the outboard on my Warrior V177sc Falcon with one of these four-strokes & a matching 9.9 kicker. Prices on each package are close, I'm just wondering what anyone has to say on these two options. I can find a lot of info on the Suzuki with searches, but not too many hits with the BF135 (newer model). What is your opinion?

I just purchased a new Alumacraft a couple days ago. I decided on the Suzuki 140, mainly because the dealership had a 2004 model left that saved me some money. From what I have been told, the 135 Honda might be slightly faster because it is a toned down 150, and the Suzuki is a boared out 115. However because of that, the Suzuki is heavier. The new JD Power and Associates report listed Suzuki and Honda tied for the #1 spot in customer satisfation. Both are outstanding motors!

I run a 70 Suzuki on my tiller boat and have been very happy with it. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.

You posted on the other site that the dealer wants $10,635 for the Suzuki 140. Maybe its because I purchase a boat, motor and trailer package, but 2 days ago I paid $8,359 for the same motor.

Fish Head ... And that was the lowest price I could get in Northern Wisconsin. Most were quoting me $11,400 - $11,600. A lot of times when you buy a package, they'll make one item less than the average, then charge more than the average for the other. As long as the bottom line was OK for you, congrats. Wish I was quoted the same however!
