I'm going to breckinridge in the start of April and wondering if there are any lakes around there that are worth fishing

If you have kids take them to Maggie Pond. It's right in town. Rent a paddle boat or fish from the shore. Lots of trout! C&R only though.

I know a guy that lives in Breck. I'll call him up and see what he would suggest for fishing in early April.

If the ice is off at that time 11-Mile or Spinney offer you the chance at some huge trout. About an hour away.

Or if you are lookin for river fishing, you've got the Blue River just minutes from you!

Well, I called my buddy in Breck, he said to try the Blue River north of Silverthorn. He said about 20 miles from the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Yep, you'll drive right through Silverthorn/Dillon on your way to Breck. The Blue has some BIG fish. They can be very selective and will definitely test your patience, but when you hook them they are worth the wait.
