late march fly fishing trip

Recommended Posts

hi, i live in duluth, mn and i have the last week of march free and would like to take a road trip to do some flyfishing. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a fun, reasonable weeklong trip where i will have the opportunitty to get into some trout. all the streams will still be locked up over here and i wonder what condition they will be in down there during this time. any info or help or just a place to start looking would be greatly appreciatted. thanks

The streams should be in good shape. The runoff doesn't start till later. The Arkansas, South Platte, and the Roaring Fork are always good places to start. Oh, and as for the weather we are already boating for walleyes!

Even take a look at the Blue River, which will give you an opportunity to hook into some nice rainbows.

I was out there 2 years ago on the Blue and hooked into a big bow on one of my first pools, fought it for a few seconds and it was off! Caught a few cutthroat for my efforts! Great time!!
