2-up gearing

Is a "2-up" snowmobile geared lower then the same snowmobile that is not a "2-up"? Just wondering, because it normally would be hauling a larger load. I know it usually has a longer track. Then would a "2-up" be better for hauling a fishing sled, etc.?

I have two 2-up sleds. Both of them are geared lower than if they were regular sleds. I do not remeber the difference right off hand but I remember reading it when I bought each of them.
