auto pilot not working

bigeyes75

Question

I bought an autopilot two years ago and could never get it to work correctly. I turn on the autopilot and it keeps spinning around in a circle. Why won't the thing keep a straight line? An advice? I am in the south metro. Anyone know where to get it fixed? Thanks.

Minnkota/Vexilar repair center in south Bloomington treated me very well when I brought my vexilar in for repair. Their Phone is 952-884-5291, call them for directions because they are in a new bldg. The coustomer service was great. Good luck. HTB

The magnetic compass on the autopilot needs to be reset. I've had mine fixed, as have many others of whom I am aware. I had mine done at a shop in Bloomington. Everybody that I know had it fixed under warranty, so none of us were charged anything.

Bigeyes75-- I am an electronics technician and I can help you out with this problem. There are four optic eyes in the auto pilot that tell it which direction it is heading, left or right. There is two transmitters and two recievers. One of the four has failed. Shoot me an email at [email protected] and if you can run a soldering iron you can fix this problem for less than $10.
