berke99
Any good tips to help draw walleyes in to your bait or jigs besides using flash lures and rattle spoons? Anything in particular during the day, or night time? Thanks for any pointers!
PERCHJR
Hey Berke, I would say that anything attracts them if they are hungry. If you are fishing Waubay, when you find the honey spot they will bite on anything, I have caught them on minnows and waxies its just a timing thing!!! I believe that anything will work for any species if the timing is right on!!! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!!
76k20
Telling a buddy to watch your line while you answer natures call is almost a sure thing . Actually I would say try to stay mobile, I'm quite guilty myself of having the permanent portable at times especially in colder weather, but even moving 5 feet shallower or deeper on the same structure can make the difference between fishing and catching. Dont be satisfied with your favorite color of jig or spoon, expiriment with a few popular colors and let the fish tell you what they want. With so many variables such as water clarity, o2 levels, snow cover, barometric pressure, water temp, and in river systems current and water level, there really isn't a better way than trial and error to cut out a pattern. And If you finally put it all together it can change in a matter of hours. Hopefully this helps a bit, Kyle
hanson
berke99-I think you have the right idea. You also could try swimbaits like Salmo's Chubby Darter or Spoons with a dropper or a Darter with a dropper line. Sounds weird and usually used more for Perch but I've caught a number of walleyes perch fishing on these set-ups.
