I know there's still lots o ice on the lakes still, but it's never to early to start thinking about the open water season. I run a tiller, and am looking for a vertical jigging outfit to use when backtrolling for walleyes. I cast with my left and reel with my right, and I've tried but can't get the hang of a left handed spinning reel. I figured that a baitcaster would be easier to switch hands when I hook a fish. If only they made right handed tillers! Anyone have advice on which baitcasting rods/reels would be appropriate for backtrolling/jigging?
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
