ive been carving some lures an was wondering if theres any decent muskie lake around mankato anywere id like to try them out when it warms up a little

kato, once it starts to warm up you might want to try frech lake near faribault. the past few years i have heard and seen numerous 40-48 inchers out of there and even a couple 50 ichers. if you're persistant enough you're almost garunteed to ctch some big fish.

Please keep in mind that the Musky Season doesn't open until the first weekend in June. Not only is it illeagal, but it cn also put undo stress on the spawning females.

Best bet for now would be to go to a river with open water and throw them around just so you can see the action on the baits, and wait until June to hunter the big girls.

Also LinD was right on with the info about French Lake...

yes i know when the season opens just was trying to find out were around here to go. ive got a nice pond in town here to test them out in but want to see if i can catch one when it opens up
