Dakota Iceman
Hey everyone, I'm at work and I just got a call from Mr. Heater. The gal told me they were going to send me out a whole new unit!! I asked her what I should do with the old one and her response was and I quote "whatever you want to sir". I am still using mine and have done so all season. After looking at the recall I decided to keep a close eye on things and use as needed(cant be without heat on the ice). I am sure there some of you who have hard feelings towards the company on this unit but I am going to be honest when I say that the steps they have taken have more than satisfied me as a customer and I will continue to support mr. heater in the future. Bob Horn
I`m not happy with Mr. Heater products. I had a couple of products that didn`t work so well and the last one burned a hole in my brand new ice shelter. I did settle with the company but I will never buy any products from them again!!! This happened a couple of years ago and now hearing about these new issues no way would I even think about useing one again.
fisherman 66
What model is being recalled? Is it the big buddy? What is the problem that they need to be recalled?

ZapBranigan
Hey fisherman 66. This has been an on going problem with the Big Buddies they sold at the end of last year. Search "Big Buddy" and you will see plenty of comments and recall info on these pages. In a nut shell when using the 1lb propane cans the pressure isn't strong enough to keep the valve open far enough to run the heater on anything past the low setting or on some units past the medium settings. There is a danger involved in this cause they shut off. Some propane still slips thru but the pilot has gone out now so the propane doesn't get burned. Getting a fix requires you to identify the valve you have and they will instruct you as to whether you can fix it and send you the parts or whether you need to send it in for service or replacement. Since there are three different valve types there are three differnt solutions.
Bob Horn
CB, I can`t go into to much detail but the heater had a flame come out of it about 15inches or so. It came out of nowhere and by the time I could react it was to late. I don`t want to say more than that.
