IceHawk
In one of your post's you said that you hunted the Doland area in SD. I have hunted snows around the Frankfurt and Doland area. There are a couple good swags and waterholes in that area. There is a farmeroff of 212 with a bunch of goats in his yard that lets us hunt. He has a big waterhole they like to roost on.I stayed one year at the Doland motel and had quite the experiance. When we arrived to check in to see if they had rooms no one was around. I called and got a hold of the guy, he said the rooms were open, help our-self to one. I asked how much? He told me to leave $20 per night on the table. We stayed a few days and left our money, funny thing was we never saw the owners. This is just a example how trustworhthy SD people really are. MattKeller
We've stayed at the Doland motel many times. You're right, it's quite the joint. Cheap too. And it helps to have a bathtub to rinse those snow geese out in I might be there this spring... Matt
JerknPerchSD
Glad to see you found some friendly people. For the most part people in SD are very friendly. Some people arent real happy about the MN-ND lawsuit because MN said after they are done with ND, SD is next There is a reason ND and SD have a lottery system and it is the resources best interest. I'm shure those of you that come over in the fall can appreciate uncrowded public and private hunting. This is my home so I hope it stays that way, the hunting is better with the drawing. No competition for fields or even prime public sloughs. Somedays you can drive around scouting in prime areas and never pass or see another hunter. Any other opinions on the topic?
