muskybuck
Have any of you people used Chena bait? I guess it is seal skin and you cut a little strip off it and put on a small jig. It turns into what looks like a little glob of snot. It is tough though and stays on your hook a long time I'm told. Anyone??
CrappieJohn
Hey Musky....I have used it with success, but it can be hard to find. It is in fact seal skin and is loaded with preservatives which keep it from spoiling when un-sealed...open it and the shelf life goes down the toilet unless you keep it refridgerated. And if you let it dry on a jig, plan on throwing the jig away for two reasone: #1. The stuff gets as hard as a rock when dry and, #2. those preservatives? Very caustic and will eat the hook! It works fair as a bait replacement on panfish. At times. I have found, though, that Custom Jigs and Spins Ratso's and Shrimpo's do a better job and do not demand the attention that Cheena Bait does. Plus they are very common products.

Bob Horn
Don`t waste your time. I bought some last year. It did work but a pain to work with as Crappie Tom explained. I`ll stay with my spikes.
