Aqua vu Videos from VCR tapes to the computer?

How do you guys do it. I currently tape with my aqua-vu, is there a unit that converts it to cd then you just load to the computer. From the computer what do you need, your own HSOforum to host it or can you use another site?

You could record the tape with a digital camcorder and then load the digital video to the computer and burn a dvd. The key is a digital video recorder and a firewire port on your computer.

Well I was thinking of getting a digital camcorder maybe this is the time to go for it...

I use the Hauppage WinTV-USB device to digitize video out of my Aqua-Vu, and record it onto my laptop as a .avi file. From there I use video editing software to shrink the file size, remove the audio, etc. This is done in a permanent fish house so I have no problem running the laptop inside.

As far as hosting the videos, I'm not sure how you would do that. A good quality video occupies a lot of space.

Well I will just have to wait until I get some good footage I guess. Got a few Perch hitting a jig on camera today...
